GoldFields engaged Tier 1 Coatings to restore the Fisher Light Vehicle Workshop floor at their St Ives site in Kambalda. Spanning over 800 m², the existing concrete surface had deteriorated to the point where workshop fitters were struggling to move their toolboxes efficiently. The objective was to deliver a durable, smooth, and safe surface that would improve functionality and stand up to the rigours of daily mining operations.
OUTCOME:
Tier 1 Coatings began by applying an epoxy screed to stabilise the damaged floor, ensuring a level and long-lasting foundation. Two coats of High Build Epoxy (HBE) were then applied, complete with safety demarcation lines to align with the workshop layout. The project, valued at $135 K, was delivered two days ahead of schedule, completed in just five days from start to finish. The result is a professional, highly functional floor system that enhances safety, organisation, and overall efficiency for the GoldFields maintenance team.
